Catalog Description: Analyzes this varied, growth industry. Considers the range of conferences and meetings, from small corporate retreats to international conventions. Topics include: the scope of the industry, the role of convention centers, hotel and resort based meeting facilities, organizations that hold meetings and the nature of those meetings, meeting planning and the role of the professional planner and industry related careers. Field trips may be required.

Students will need an e-mail account and computer access to the Web. All Sacramento State students enrolled in one or more units can create a SacLink account for e-mail. Although a home computer with Internet access running Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Netscape Navigator would be beneficial, students can access the Internet from one of the campus student labs.
