Additional Undergraduate Electives for RPTA

In addition to the electives in specific areas, the department also offers several general electives. Those electives are:

• RPTA 33 – Leisure in A Diverse Society (This course fullfils GE Area D2)
• RPTA 120 – Introduction to Leisure Education
• RPTA 124 – Therapeutic Recreation and Gerontology
• RPTA 125 Therapeutic Recreation and Persons with Physical Disabilities
• RPTA 132 – Recreation Waterfront Management
• RPTA 154 – Design in Recreation, Parks and Tourism Facilities
• RPTA 171 – Professional Organization Leadership

*These electives are offered less frequently than other RPTA electives and therefore should be planned for carefully. Please check the course schedule to see when these courses will be offered.

*Please note Recreation and Park Management students (Commercial, Community and Recreation Resource) can swap electives from each of the areas. Because of certification requirements, Therapeutic Recreation students have less flexibility. Please consult your advisor before making changes to your electives if you have questions.
