The undergraduate athletic training education program prepares students to become a competent entry level certified athletic trainer by: 1) meeting the requirements for Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education Programs (CAATE) for reaccreditation 2) meeting university requirements for graduation 3) providing quality experiences for students to develop skills and knowledge in the areas of prevention, recognition, evaluation, immediate care, rehabilitation and reconditioning of athletic injuries, health care administration and professional development and responsibility 4) preparing students to be successful on the board of certification exam and 5) developing critical thinking skills to be a productive member of society.
