    1. Faculty Senate to examine information competence plan at CSUS this fall.  Each department should alert senators of our interest.
    2. Linda shared demonstration project that likely will evolve into a system wide testing of IC in students, possible during the junior year, which may serve as a gate/diagnostic somewhat like the writing proficiency exam.
    3. (ok, now I can’t remember if this was during the meeting or a post meeting discussion): In nursing Brenda to organize curricular discussion with faculty to map IC development within curriculum.  This meeting will probably be in January.  Prior to that meeting, it was suggested that we divide the faculty up and meet individually or in small groups to identify people’s passions and concerns so that we can leave the January meeting with approval for a plan.  Ed your department is smaller, will you need help to hold these discussions?
    4. An important element that group thought needs to be in this plan is a way to help students critically evaluate internet sites.  Linda shared some entertaining examples of how this might be done.
