Hello and welcome to the world
of R.P.M.A.! If you are new to the world of Recreation and Leisure
Studies, you are probably wondering what our association is all about.
The Recreation and Park Majors Association (R.P.M.A.) is for majors and
minors in Recreation and
Leisure Studies at C.S.U.S., but we also want to involve other majors/minors
in our association. All are welcome to join! Recreation and
Leisure Studies is also part of the School
of Health and Human Services.
We
are part of District II and affiliated with CPRS (California Park &
Recreation Society). R.P.M.A. is a great way to meet many new people who
share the same interests as you as well as meet others in your major who
can possibly help you during the school year. Even if you do not share
a lot in common, you will make many friends with whom you will probably
stay in touch with for a long time. The association hosts many guest
speakers as well as gives you the chance to network with professionals
which could lead to interships and more! R.P.M.A hosts many events throughout
the year for members to get together and socialize. About twice a month
there are meetings which are not typical "club meetings." We do different
fun things every meeting and everyone always has a great time while being
informed on upcoming events and other things that the members can participate
