Therapeutic
Recreation Related/Supportive Coursework Introduction: The Therapeutic Recreation Option at CSUS intends to prepare students for state (CPRPC) and national (NCTRC) professional certification as a recreation therapist. One of the requirements of NCTRC is a minimum of 3 units of Anatomy and Physiology (A & P). Students can complete this certification requirement as part of their degree at CSUS or take the course 'on the side' of their degree. The three major ways to complete the requirement are: (1) at CSUS 1.

to CSUS. 3. Non-transferable Anatomy and Physiology Courses There are also non-transferable anatomy and physiology classes at community colleges. Non-transferable means they can not be used for any part of your CSU degree. You can choose to fulfill the NCTRC certification requirement of 3 units of A & P via these courses. If you choose to do this, a substitution class in the 18 units of related/supportive courses for TR option majors will be added in consultation with the TR advisor. You could choose to take only one 3 unit course to meet minimum NCTRC requirements. UNDERGRAD STUDENTS: Remember if you take a non-transferable course you have to take another 3 unit related/supportive course to fulfill TR major requirements and degree requirements at CSUS.
