The LVN to RN 30-Unit
Option Program at Sacramento State is currently undergoing a major revision
to better meet the educational needs of the LVN and to better meet the California
Board of Registered Nursing requirements for the 30-Unit Option. The prerequisite
course requirements (physiology with lab and microbiology with lab) and
the requirements for admission (valid California LVN license; 3.0 combined
GPA on the prerequisites; 3.0 overall GPA on 30 most recent graded semester
units) will NOT change; only the LVN to RN curriculum structure is changing.
Likewise, the program will remain a NON-DEGREE program and will NOT result
in a BSN. (If you are interested in applying directly to our BSN program,
please visit the Division of Nursing website at http://www.hhs.csus.edu/NRS/Advising/GenericAdvising/fall2006/
for information about the program and when the next BSN group advising session
will be held.)
The proposed LVN to
RN curricular change is scheduled to take effect beginning in the spring
2009 semester. The current website information will be updated over the
next few weeks to reflect these changes.
We regret that we will
not be accepting any applications for the fall 2008 semester due to changes
in the Generic BSN program and a lack of space availability. We will be
accepting applications for the spring 2009 semester; the application will
be available on this website starting September 1st and we will accept applications
for the priority pool until October 15th. Students will be admitted on a
space-available basis according to their applicant ranking.
