Mission Statement
Encourage healthy aging and enable the older adults to take charge of his or her health in later years:
- Improve physical capacity of older adults through on-site and individualized home and fitness activities
- Provide education related to maximizing physical and mental health, personal safety, and recreation and leisure pursuits.
- Promote health and help prevent disease, disability, and injury.
- Provide a warm, welcoming environment for social interaction and intellectual stimulation.
Provide on site and classroom training for Sac State students interested in careers related to health and fitness in service to older adults.
Conduct interdisciplinary research on issues concerned with healthy aging.
Collaborate with community agencies/organizations to provide healthy aging services.
Serve as an advocate in the promotion of health aging as a means to affect public policy.
