RESEARCH

My main research interests are in the areas of altitude physiology and exercise performance. I am specifically interested in how humans respond to acute and chronic bouts of hypobaric hypoxia and how such  knowledge can be utilized to enhance and optimize exercise performance both at sea level and altitude. I have secondary interests in exercise endocrinology and how physical activity changes disease outcomes in minorities and people of lower socioeconomic status. Current research interests include environmental physiology, exercise performance, exercise endocrinology, and physical activity intervention on disease outcomes in a low income population.  A listing of current projects, recent presentations and papers published can be found here.
